5-days Gorilla Trekking Congo is one of the countries with Mountain Gorilla for trekking other than Volcanoes National Park In Rwanda and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Mgahinga in Uganda, the safari starts from Kigali with the transfer to the congo side and you will hike the Nyiragongo Mountain and finally do Gorilla trekking in Virunga National Park.
Day 1: Kigali to Bukima in Congo
Our trained guide will pick you up from the hotel and brief you about the trip. he will drive you towards Gisenyi via Ruhengeri and will make the first stop over at the cultural centre in Ibiwachu village found in Ruhengeri. overnights can be taken from either lake Kivu Serena hotel or waterfront resort lodge.
Day 2: Descend the Nyiragongo Volcano
Have breakfast and after descending down from Nyiragongo volcano mountain, you will meet the driver and drive to Mikeno lodge at Rumagambo near Virunga National park.
Day 3: Nyiragongo Volcano Hiking
The driver will pick you up from the hotel which is in Gisenyi Town very early in the morning. he will drive through Goma town to Virunga national park headquarters for briefing and you will be given a well-knowledgeable guide. you will set off with hiking at 10:30 am. it takes around 5 hours to reach the summit of Nyiragongo mountain. upon arrival at the summit, you will enjoy the spectacular views of the burning volcano and later have dinner and accommodation at the mountain campsite tents.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Virunga National Park-Congo
After your early morning breakfast, our guide will drive you to the park headquarters for briefing and join others for briefing before heading into the Virunga forest for your gorilla trek. once you find the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them while observing their behaviour, and taking photographs and then after one hour of encountering the gorillas, you return to the park headquarters to end the trekking. you then transfer to Goma after the gorilla trek overnight.
Day 5: Departure to Kigali to end the tour.
You will be driven back for your post-tour accommodation or you may choose to fly out to Kigali on the last day of your tour.
